Omega 3 Oils Are Essential For Everything From Heart Disease And Cancer

The USA National Institutes of Health has recognized the benefits of DHA and EPA. With all the negative hype going on these days about the dangers of high-fat diet, do not confuse Omega 3 fatty acids [the good fat from vegetable oils] with Omega 6 fatty acids [the harmful saturated fat from animals]. Omega 3 does not contribute to weight gain or other health problems. Actually both are good healthy fats that our bodies need, but the danger lies in an imbalanced ratio of them. We only need about 5 times the amount of Omega 6 as we do Omega 3, but the typical Western diet provides at least 40 times as much.
The reason Americans are deficient in Omega 3 is because manufacturers deliberately remove it from products in order to increase their shelf life. Therefore, the healthy thing to do is cut down considerably on Omega 6 fats, and supplement the Omega 3 fats. The Omega 6 fats to reduce in your diet are hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated fats, saturated animal fats [beef, lamb, pork, sheep, veal], and animal organ meats [brain, heart, kidney, liver]. You should completely avoid trans-fatty acids fake fats, which include margarine, olestra, olean. These fats are synthetic and pose a major health threat to all vial organs, particularly the liver which attempts to metabolize them. Instead, use coconut oil, olive oil or grape seed oil to cook. These oils do not become toxic when heated. Butter does not become toxic when heated, but because it is animal fat, it may tend to raise the level of "bad cholesterol" in the body.
The American Heart Association recommends omega-3 fatty acids, found in certain cold-water fish and a few other foods, as a terrific means of maintaining heart health. In numerous studies, Japanese have been shown to suffer far less cardiac disease than Americans. So have the Danes. DHA [docosahexaenoic acid] and EPA eicosapentaenoic acid] rejuvenate your body at the cellular level. The average Japanese person has 600 mg
of DHA in his or her body. The average Dane has 400 mg.. Americans only have a mere 120 mg.
Prescription drugs are not the answer to heart disease. In fact, according to the American Heart Association, some drugs, such as calcium channel blockers, increase the risk of a heart attack by 60%. Many high blood pressure drugs multiply the problem. Some of them dilate the blood vessels in order to reduce high blood pressure, but this reaction speeds up the pulse. Doctors then give you another drug to slow down the pulse, but this causes water retention. They then give you a fluid pill to diurese, but this causes a loss of too many valuable electrolytes...and so on and so on. These drugs cause impotency in men, and cause gout, diabetes, headaches, dizziness, depression, and high cholesterol levels in both men and women. Another set of drugs that conventional doctors give are called beta blockers. They block the effects of adrenaline on the heart, reduce the output of the heart, inhibit some kidney functions, change the blood pressure control center in the brain, and alter the sensitivity of nerves that monitor blood pressure. They also cause nausea, sexual dysfunction, drowsiness, dizziness, low blood sugar, loss of appetite, fatigue and depression. The drug treatments end up being worse than the illness. The most common statin-related problems are muscle aches or weakness, fatigue, memory and cognitive problems, sleep problems, and neuropathy (nerve damage), liver damaged and increased cancer risk. Women taking statins [including Lipitor] have breast cancer rates 12 times higher than other women. Statins also deplete the body of CoQ10, which tends to be already abnormally low in women. Garlic and Gugulipid are safe effective alternatives. Other significant heart nutrients for women are folic acid, B6, B12 and CoQ10 [energizes cells]. The British Medical Journal published a report documenting that the number of deaths of drug- treated hypertensive individuals is approximately the same as those who take no drugs.
